What is Nag (Naga) Bhasma?

Nag Bhasma is an Ayurvedic medicine made from lead. Naga Bhasma contains an excess amount of lead, that is why it is made by processing with other herbs to reduce its toxic effect. In this way, it becomes usable for medicinal purposes.  
Sesame oil, butter, cow urine, etc. are used to make Nag Bhasma from lead. Apart from this, it is made by using peel and tamarind bark. The process of making Nag Bhasma is quite complicated. Therefore, this medicine should be purchased from the market.

Consuming Nag Bhasma cures eye disease, stomach pain, spleen enlargement, leucorrhoea, diarrhea, fever, excess of bile, bradycardia, goiter, cough, physical weakness, headache, liver disorders, and urinary diseases. Naga Bhasma Uses in Diabetes

Taking Nag Bhasma along with Shilajit to diabetes patients gives very good results. Apart from this, if the patient is very weak, mix this medicine with Gugamar herb powder and giloy satva, and then lick with honey. It gives relief in diabetes. Patients who have more body fat, should consume this medicine with Tankan Bhasma. 

Naga Bhasma Uses in Digestive System

Diseases of the digestive system arise due to the weakness of the liver. If the right amount of digestive juices is not secreted by the liver, then problems like indigestion, stomach gas, retardation, constipation arise. In this condition, giving Nag Bhasma with the powder of Panchkol (Peepal, Peepala mool, Chavya, Chitrak and dry ginger with cumin extracts is beneficial.

Naga Bhasma Uses in tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculosis occurs due to the weakness and infections of the lungs. In this disease, giving Nag Bhasma with Mukta Pishti, Chavanprash and Vasavaleh are beneficial.

Naga Bhasma Uses in Arthritis or Rheumatism

Amadosh is the main cause of the disease called arthritis. If the food is not digested properly then the food generates AAM which causes rheumatism. This is why problems like rheumatism arise. In this condition, giving honey mixed with dry ginger powder to Nag Bhasma is very beneficial.

Naga Bhasma Uses in dry cough

If there is an infection in the respiratory tract due to which there is a lot of cough, in such a situation, Nag Bhasma can be given along with Vasarishta after mixing it with Sitopladi Churna.

Nag Bhasma Uses in urinary infection

If the patient has frequent urination, stops urinating, and feels difficult to stop urination, In this case, Nag Bhasma can be given with Yavakshara, or mixed with Muktakushti Pishti and also licking it with butter gives relief very soon.

Dosage & Administration

The general dosage of Naga Bhasma is as follows:-
Children 2 mg per Kg body weight *
Adults 125 mg *
Maximum possible dosage 500 mg per day in divided doses
Twice daily with honey, butter or milk cream

Precautions & Side Effects

Nag Bhasma should be taken as per the doctor’s advice. Taking this medicine by itself can have serious consequences. Taking this medicine in excess can cause problems like acidity and heartburn. Pregnant women should not take this medicine.
